A Trip to Somewhere New: Vegas, Cousins & Saying Yes to Adventure
This week looks a little different than my usual routine.
Instead of gym, work, sleep, repeat — I’m packing my bags and heading somewhere I’ve never been before…
Las Vegas.
And honestly, I’m excited in a way that feels a little unfamiliar.
Saying Yes to Something New
If I’m being honest, I’m a creature of routine.
I like my schedule.
I like knowing what my days look like.
I like feeling in control of my time.
So saying yes to a trip — especially somewhere like Vegas — feels a little outside of my norm.
But that’s also exactly why I said yes.
Because sometimes growth doesn’t come from doing more of the same.
Sometimes it comes from stepping into something different.
Traveling with My Cousin
One of the best parts of this trip is who I’m going with.
There’s something special about traveling with family — especially when it’s someone you can laugh with, relax with, and just enjoy the moment without pressure.
No expectations.
No overplanning.
Just time together and whatever the trip turns into.
And honestly, that feels like exactly what I need right now.
Trying Something That Scares Me (A Little)
We’re also doing something I don’t normally do…
Ziplining.
Which, if you know me, is both exciting and slightly terrifying at the same time.
But I’m learning that those are usually the moments that end up being the most memorable — the ones that push you just a little outside your comfort zone.
Not in a dramatic, life-changing way.
Just enough to remind you that you’re capable of more than your routine.
Letting the Trip Be Easy
This trip isn’t about checking off a long list of things to do.
It’s about:
being somewhere new
trying a few fun things
spending time with someone I care about
and just enjoying it without overthinking everything
No pressure to make it perfect.
Just letting it be what it is.
A Different Kind of Reset
I’ve talked a lot lately about resets — mentally, physically, emotionally.
And I’m realizing not all resets happen at home or in routines.
Sometimes they happen when you step away from your everyday life and see things from a different perspective.
Even if it’s just for a few days.
The Kind of Week I’m Choosing
This week, I’m choosing:
fun over routine
experiences over structure
and saying yes to things I might normally overthink
Because life isn’t just built in the quiet, consistent weeks.
It’s also built in the moments where you try something new, go somewhere different, and let yourself enjoy it.
And right now, that looks like Vegas.
Have you ever said yes to something completely outside your routine and ended up loving it?
Until the next chapter—may your coffee be strong and your heart stay open, and you always lead with kindness
