The Week I Finally Tried Meal Planning
There’s something I’ve been trying to get better at lately—meal planning.
Not in a “perfectly prepped, color-coded containers for every meal” kind of way, but in a realistic, life-happens, do-what-I-can kind of way.
Because if I’m being honest, the weeks I don’t have a plan are the weeks I end up grabbing whatever is easiest. And “easy” usually turns into takeout, random snacking, or standing in the kitchen wondering what sounds good… and somehow nothing does.
I don’t want food to feel stressful or like a constant decision I have to make over and over again.
So I’m starting small.
Instead of planning every single meal, I’m focusing on dinners first. Just asking myself: what am I realistically going to want to eat this week? Not what sounds “healthy” or “ideal,” but what actually fits my schedule and energy.
Some weeks that might look like cooking a couple simple meals and repeating them. Other weeks it might mean prepping ingredients instead of full meals. And sometimes it just means making sure I have a backup option so I’m not defaulting to junk.
It’s not about being perfect—it’s about making things a little easier on myself.
And honestly, even a loose plan already feels better than none at all.
So this week, I’m leaning into it and seeing what sticks.
Do you meal plan, or are you more of a figure-it-out-as-you-go person?
Until the next chapter—may your coffee be strong and your heart stay open, and you always lead with kindness
